Career Pathways
Our future success depends on our ability to continue to recruit and retain the best people and to provide the training and support that enables each member of our team to perform to their full potential. This is at the heart of our development strategy and by operating on a regional basis the organisation is better placed to retain the very best people by offering better career paths to the most senior levels.
Our aim is to maintain a team that is 100% qualified to at least Level 3 with practice lead by a graduate Early Years Professional.
Succession training / internal promotion
Your development is very important to us and you will receive a wealth of learning and development throughout your career. Because we want to be the best at what we do, your learning and development will not only make sure you have the skills and confidence to do your job well and deliver an outstanding quality service but will also give you plenty of opportunities to grow along the way.
Our aim of concentrating on being a regional, rather than national provider, enables us not only to offer the best career opportunities but also helps us to retain our people and keep their skills and experience within the organisation.
Our Training and Development policy supports individual growth and learning, provides team members with new skills and the opportunity to grow within the organisation. We appreciate that not everybody wishes to climb the career ladder but it is equally important they are given every opportunity to reach their own career potential.

As a professional, you have a responsibility to keep your skills and knowledge up to date. CPD helps you turn that accountability into a positive opportunity to identify and achieve your own career objectives.
At least once a year, we recommend you review your learning over the previous 12 months, and set your development objectives for the coming year. Reflecting on the past and planning for the future in this way makes your development more methodical and easier to measure. This is a particularly useful exercise prior to your annual performance review and will play a big part of your review!
Fundamentally it's a question of setting yourself objectives for development and then charting your progress towards achieving them. It's about where you want to be, and how you plan to get there. Our approach is based on reflection that focuses on outcomes and results, rather than 'time spent' or 'things done'.
ICAEW Essex Accountancy and Business Awards 2010 we won the Best Staff Development Scheme.
