Hello and welcome to our nursery page. I am Carole Hedditch-Grey, the Manager of Lawn Lane.
I have been working in childcare and education for over 10 years. I have had experience working at independent schools as well as in other industries. I have been with Seymour House for 4 years and am very proud of the standard of care and education we offer at Lawn Lane. Lawn Lane is set in 0.5 of an acre just away from all the commotion of the town center, it is a quiet and friendly environment for children to grow and learn. I am particularly proud that we were recently judged by Ofsted to be outstanding in all areas. I would be delighted to discuss our provision at lawn lane, so please don't hesitate to contact me.
Our team of practitioners are all qualified to NVQ Level 3 or above, however, we also benefit from the knowledge of NNEB's, BA (hons) and NVQ 4,5,6's.
Pear Trees is all at ground level, allowing children free flow access to the outdoor classroom. This consists of a rich environment including a sensory playhouse and outdoor classroom.
Activities and learning opportunities are planned around the individual child taking into account their preferences and ideas. At our Nursery everyone is welcomed with a smile and the promise of a fantastic day ahead!
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
The period from birth to the end of the Reception Year at school is known as the Early Years Foundation Stage. Children develop more quickly at this stage than at any other time in their lives and lay the foundations for life long learning. Young children learn best through play and exploration. Our practitioners provide the children with opportunities for appropriate play and learning experiences, as well as support for their stage in development. The activities will underpin the skills children will develop when they go to school.
Key Person
One specific member of the nursery team will be chosen to be your child's Key Person. Their role is to provide continuity of care and to communicate with you regularly to ensure your childӳ needs are met. They will also invite you to contribute to the planning process helping to ensure that all activities are appropriate for a childӳ level of development.
