Coronavirus

    21ˢᵗ April 2022

On 1ˢᵗ April 2022 the Government issued new guidance for the strategy ‘Living with COVID’. This is
the most recent full guidance Living Safely with Respiratory Infections, including COVID-19 and
below is a summary of changes.

Adults with symptoms of a respiratory infection, and who have a high temperature, should try to
stay at home and avoid contact with other people until they feel well enough to resume normal
activities and they no longer have a high temperature. Children who are unwell and have a high
temperature should stay at home and avoid contact with other people. They are able to come back to
nursery when they no longer have a high temperature, and they are well enough to attend.

Free testing (lateral flow testing and PCR) has now been withdrawn. Tests are now only available in
certain circumstances (for certain workers or people receiving treatment) or from private
retailers. If you test positive for Covid-19 the guidance is to try and stay at home and avoid
contact with other people for five days. For people aged 18 and under, the advice is three days.

Our risk assessment and Safety Operating Procedures have been reviewed in accordance with this
guidance, and our general procedures have been updated to include the management of respiratory
infections including COVID-19. We continue to have an outbreak management plan in place if we need
it in the future where we can step up control measures as required.

We would like to thank you all parents, carers and team members for their support
through the pandemic, we are proud that our entire community has pulled together to ensure our
children have continued to receive the very best care and education.
